Q1 MCU, with CAN and PWM

Hi

My automotive customer is designing car front panel which require Q1 MCU with CAN and PWM. Double check with you. Thanks.

  • Interesting question...
I am aware that Q1 is "qualified for automotive applications"... but I have not yet come across a formal standard for that - is there such?
TM4C129x family has a T3 suffix option that qualifies them for -40 to +105oC operation - not exactly automotive spec, but it gives a good "reliability feeling". Our applications are track inspection devices based on railway vehicles, things don't get too worse than that when it comes to harsh environment and bad power emission nearby - and these MCU's work just fine. We don't, however, have "automotive quantities" to create statistics.
As for PWM output, most of all the family will have at least 8 ports.
Looking forward to reading futher comments on this.

  • Hi Daniel,
TM4C is not AEC-Q100 qualified. If you are interested in Q100 products please also take a look at the C2000 and TMS570 product lines. They all have rich sets of PWM and CAN. For example, in TM570LC4357, there are well more than 32 PWM and 4 CAN interfaces. It is also ISO26262 and IEC61508 safety certified.
