TMS570LS3137: "RAM13 Software Test of Parity Logic" do ESM Error reports?

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

Hello everyone.

I'm reading SafetyManual(SPNU511D).I have question.

Does ESM be report when an error is detected by "RAM13 : Software Test of Parity Logic(Section 7.130)"  ?

When report, which channel is set ?

Best Regards

  • Hello Arriy,

I need to do some additional research on this safety mechanism to understand more completely what the intent was. However, my expert on this topic is currently out of the office on Holiday. I will get back with you once I have had a chance to check with him on it. He is scheduled to return next week.
  • Hello Arriy,

I discussed this with one of our device experts and they and they suggested that the address and control pus parity logic can be tested by software by using the ADDR_PARITY_OVERRIDE bit of the RAMCTRL register to invert the parity scheme selected by the device global parity selection. This should then create a parity error since the RAM wrapper is in an opposite parity scheme from the CPU (global device parity scheme). The result will be an address parity error (both module level flags and address capture along with the system level ESM register flag group 2 either channel 10 or 12 dependent on address location and BxTCM location).
