TM4C123BH6ZRB: Die Revision Number

Hi team,

We are using the TM4C123BH6ZRB in our design and are looking to set the compiler flag for the die revision of the chip we are planning on using, i.e. --define=TARGET_IS_TM4C123_RXX

Looking at page 233 in the datasheet, I see that the DID0 register gives this revision number.

When we go into production, do we just assume that the die revision will be the most recent revision at the time of purchase? Is that currently B2? Is this indicated on any samples that we might order?

Hi Akash,
The B2 is the latest version and as far as I know is the final version.

Hi Charles,

Does that mean that all devices that are shipped here on out are the B2 versions?

There is an orderable part number based on silicon revision (i.e. B2).

I'm an outsider - as are you - yet past worked at (another) giant semi-firm.

I belief that it is "unrealistic" to expect that, "one & only one revision/version" will continue - to eternity. Often - newer versions may allow the incorporation of "fixes and/or improvements" - or may allow the device to be manufactured under "new equipment and/or processes" - all of this serving (much) to your advantage.

As vendor indicated - you may "specify" a specific device while ordering - yet note that distributors are likely to request "latest/greatest" - which may impact your quest for, "past device - here on out."

I see that the last digit in the full part number, e.g. the 7 at the end of TM4C123BH6ZRBI7, is the part revision number in the table on page 233 corresponding to die revision B2.
