TMS570LC4357: could the two flexray channels be used totally separately?

As we know, some microcontrollers of TMS570 series have flexray interface, such as tms570ls1227, tms570lc4357. 

Let's take tms570lc4357 as an example. The datasheet said it has one FlexRay Controller With 2 Channels, I want to know， Could the two channels be used totally separately？I want to use the two channels to connect different nodes, to programme to tranmit and receive different messages  separately, is that possible?
