Whats the state of IEEE 1588 offering on Tiva C TM4C1294NCPDT?

Precisely, can network time synch be executed with little code development at my end?

What is the PPS output used for?

I see that there some functions in emac driver but no software stack bundled with TI RTOS.

PLease advise if this chip can be used for this purpose.

Below is the feature list for the Ethernet controller implemented in TM4C129.

Conforms to IEEE 1588-2002 Timestamp Precision Time Protocol (PTP) protocol and the IEEE 1588-2008 Advanced Timestamp specification
– Transmit and Receive frame time stamping
– Precision Time Protocol
– Flexible pulse per second output
– Supports coarse and fine correction methods

I have had replies from TI employees stating that NDK does not support IEEE1588 for this platform.

Hi Pavitra,
Glad that you got the answer, obviously it is not the answer you want. From hardware point of view, the capability is there. You might need spend effort to port from other platform to TM4C. Certainly it is not an easy task either.
