Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS1227
Hi,
Is the TMS570LC4357 pin compatible with the TMS570LS1227?
I understand the binarys are likely to be different as the main functions have changed, according to the ball-map.
Many Thanks

The 4357 is a superset of the 1227 from a pinout perspective. It also consumes more power.
In other words, the least common denominator of the two pinouts is the 1227's ... make sure that the NC on the
1227 footprint are actually left as NC on your PCB though because the 4357 has IO where there were NC on the 1227.
Example of this: The HDKs for TMS570 all have the same PCB including the 4357's.
Example of where you could put a 1227 into a 4357 board and not have full functionality is the 4357 launchpad. The launchpad PCB was designed specifically for the 4357 and uses some pins that are only available on the 4357 (like the new dedicated pins for Ethernet instead of the muxed pins that are available on the 1227).
