TM4C129ENCPDT: Correct way to generate Release build of driverlib?

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT

When configuring the Release build configuration of my project, I noticed that TivaWare installs prebuilt Debug versions of driverlib, but not Release builds.

Is there a canonical way to generate the Release build? More importantly, is there a way to do it so that it will get built automatically if not already built? The reason I ask is because my project must be portable in the sense that if checked out and compiled on another computer, there must not be an issue where a needed library is not found.

I'm using CCS version 7.1.0.00016 with TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178.

  • I suggest you create a CCS project to rebuild the driver library with the options that you want. You can import the driver library project from: "C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\driverlib\ccs". Then in your project you add the configuration of the driver library project as a dependency as shown in the screen shot below:

  • Just one further detail: when you create a project from which what you want is the library, you need to choose so, right when the project is created. See image below:
