EK-TM4C1294XL: MODBUS TCP

Hello Everyone,

I am very new to this micro controller. This micro attracts me because it has MAC/PHY built in on the IC, so whenever I go to the production stage, I do not need to add external MAC/PHY chips.

I intend to use this MCU to collect and send the data to our main system which use MODBUS TCP as our communication protocol. I need to implement slave modbus tcp on the MCU. However, we do not want spend any effort to write our own modbus library.

So, is there any paid/free modbus library that I can test and use on this particular MCU.

Hi,
We don't have any specific MODBUS TCP examples. But we have some examples that use LwIP TCP/IP stack. You can refer to the enet_io.c example that comes with the TivaWare package.

I find the below website to be helpful in answering some questions, at least for myself.

The 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M4F MCU based Small form factor Serial-to-Ethernet Converter reference design has a project which demonstrates a Modbus TCP to Modbus serial converter, see the TIDA-00226 Serial to Ethernet Firmware link.

I haven't used this example myself, just found it from looking at the available MCU TI Designs.
