TMS570LS3137: Why does the Het2ParityCheck read from ESM group1 channel 34 (reserved in TRM)?

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

I am using this code in a DO178C (FAA) compliant program, so ALL code must originate from SW requirements and have technical documentation.

In the Het2ParityCheck sample code, post-test, the code checks for ESM group1 channel 7 (which is documented) AND ESM group1 channel 34 (which is marked as reserved in the current datasheet). Can you tell me why channel 34 is checked?

Thanks,

Jim

  • Hello Jim,

The ESM group 1 channel 34 is reserved for LS3137 device. Both the NHET1 parity error and NHET2 parity error are mapped to ESM1.7. Other device devices (for example RM57, LC43x) use ESM1.7 for NHET1 and ESM1.34 for NHET2. You don't need to check ESM1.34.
