TM4C129DNCPDT: What's the largest LCD can be drived?

Part Number: TM4C129DNCPDT

Hi

My customer want to use TM4C129X to drive a 7' inch LCD, moving forward, it's better if it can drive a 10 inch LCD. It display picture for HMI. Is it possible

It don't mention LCD interface, but a large LCD screen is must to have. Thanks a lot.

  • Re: "Can be driven?"

Most always it proves possible to drive such "more demanding (likely larger) Displays" when:

    • the Display embeds an MCU accommodating, Display Controller.     Such a display controller manages the (constant) update of the display - requiring MCU intervention (only) for screen changes.
    • the User imposes a proper Display Controller between the MCU and the "demanding" Display.    Again - the functional demands upon the MCU are greatly eased & reduced - by such addition.

The addition of such a Display Controller does add cost - yet provides a great welcoming of many displays (even your "moving forward" ones) adding great flexibility - and even "Reuse" when "forward arrives" - and a still bigger/more demanding display becomes a candidate...

Note that ARM MCUs do exist which (pardon) far better accommodate such "demanding displays."     (this by virtue of their higher speed, and in-built - "Graphic Hardware Accelerators" - among other specific,  "display adjuncts.")
