May we ask, "Why you've chosen the external ethernet PHY - when there is one w/in the MCU?"    (was that done to best accommodate the "RMI" interface?)

I recall a client of ours doing such - I may be able to contact them this weekend - and must rely upon you for added info as this is "FAR" from my competency.     (as are (many) other areas, as well...)

While it is great that you knew, "How & Where to find such App Note" - is that task not, "Far Harder" for we "outsiders?" (i.e. your client-users)

So often this occurs - does this not place further burden upon you - and other vendor agents - and "delay & frustrate" motivated users - when those w/such "inside info" are away?

I suppose that (some) case may be made for "hiding" such data - yet I'd bet that a far stronger argument can be advanced in favor of, "Enabling your users to quickly find needed data on their own!" (i.e. find right here - right now!)

There is too little information in this document. I need to know how to use the interface (Serial Management Interface), for example, write/read data. I did not find any information about this in datashit and in the Tivaware.

Have you had a chance to go through section 20.4.2.7 Extended Address Space Access in the datasheet on how to perform read/write to the PHY registers. Please also refer to the Peripheral Driver Library userguide and look at all the EMACPHYxxxx APIs, such as EMACPHYRead() and EMACPHYWrite().

Do you mean EMACPHYExtendedRead and EMACPHYExtendedWrite? It looks like the truth, but there is no mention that Serial Management Interface is used.

The MDIO is the interface to access the PHY registers.
