RTOS/TM4C129XNCZAD: NDK example projects

The NDK User's Guide (SPRU523J) claims "Examples are stored in zip files in the <NSP_INSTALL_DIR>\packages\ti\ndk\examples directory of the NSP installation."

I do not have this directory with NDK version 2.25.0.9 which came with my installation of TI-RTOS. I tried downloading NDK by itself and still no examples.

The resource explorer has some examples, but the guide is referencing a network client example which I can't find.

Hi Peter,

For the TM4C129 devices, all networking examples are in TI-RTOS for TivaC (as you mentioned)

We bundled the "NSP" with TI-RTOS. The "client" example is in the NSP for the C6000 processors. You can look at this NSP for an the client example. Then port it to the TM4C device.

The client example seems to be exclusive to the TM4C129E. Do you have one that works with the TM4C129X?

I'm not sure why we didn't have the HTTP Client example for the DK board. You can use the Tiva TM4C1294NCPDT one and then change the following
1. Replace the board files (EK_TM4C1294XL.c/.h/.cmd and Board.h) with the ones from a DK example (e.g. TCP Echo).
2. Make sure the linker file is updated accordingly in the Project Properties->General->Main->Linker Command File .
3. Change the platform in Project Properties->General->Products->Platform to the DK's platform: ti.platforms.tiva:TM4C129XNCZAD
4. Change the part number in the predefined symbol under compiler settings to PART_TM4C129XNCZAD.

Unfortunately I could not test it since I only have a EK_TM4C1294XL LP

Note: the network client example mentioned in the NDK docs is a different example entirely. It has telnet, etc.

Where do we find the examples in this guide?

The main goal is hand holding and that's what I think the NDK User Guide is trying to give me. A "hello world" example would be wonderful.

I ported it for you to the EK_TM4C1294XL (again, sorry I don't have a DK board). I've attached the CCS project at the bottom. However, the TCP Echo and UDP Echo examples are pretty similar. Note: for the HelloWorld example, you need the helloWorld.exe in TI-RTOS (e.g. C:\ti\tirtos_tivac_2_16_01_14\products\ndk_2_25_00_09\packages\ti\ndk\winapps)
