TMS570LS0714: Porting the software in TMS570LS0714

Part Number: TMS570LS0714
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hi,

I am using TMS570LS0714PZ package in my design at the moment. I would like to change to TMS570LS0714PGE package.  In the HalCogen project of TMS570LS0714PGE, the SPI2 peripheral of the micro controller is not available. The HalCoGen project snap shot is as shown in the figure below.

When i checked the pinning of the  TMS570LS0714PGE, i do not see the SPI2 pins as well. Is this correct?

I can use another SPI peripheral of the micro controller while porting the software. Are there any major changes between these two packages of the micro controller?

Thanks & Best regards,

Sreekanth challa

  • Sreekanth,

The PZ package is made to be compatible to the TMS570LS0x32 devices while the PGE packaged part is made to be pin compatible to the TMS570LS11x/12x devices. As you have seen, there may be some IP level changes that may need to be ported. To be sure, I would compare the IP lists in each of the terminal functions tables or perhaps in the pin diagrams. As far as the device operation and memory sizes, etc. there is no difference.
