CCS/RM48L952: Search UL file number

Part Number: RM48L952

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi There,

I am looking for the UL file number for RM48L952 MCU.

Is there any one can tell me where I can get that.

Others, I use a lot of TI's components. Is there any way I can find their UL file number easily? and where ? How?

Thanks,

Dison

  • Hello Dison,

I am unfamiliar with what you are referring to as UL file number. The RM48L952 device is certified to IEC61508 SIL3 but not any specific designation for UL. I cannot answer for other TI devices as I am unfamiliar with the certification initiatives for each department at TI. The best bet would be to reach our to a local FAE to see if he can help compile the list of components you are using and gather if they have UL component certs or not.
  • Hi Chuck Davenport,

    Thanks for your reply.
I just want make sure if the parts have UL file number. I also want to know where you put "SAFETY AGENCY APPROVALS" information. Is it in datasheet or other document for a part?

Would you have any email address of FAE in Vancouver?

    Thanks,

    Dison
  • Hello Dison,

For the Safety agency appovals/certifications, you can access our certificates on the ti.com/safety page. Here we list each of the Hercules device families and their associated certificates. We also have information on other devices that have been approved in various safety related systems for various safety standards including some UL information. To be clear, this site covers devices that have been specifically designated/approved for safety related applications. If there are other TI devices that are being used in your application that you don't find on the SafeTI site, I encourage you to reach out to those business units to identify a way to qualify them for use in your system including the possibility of proven in use or a QM (Quality Managed) designation.

Unfortunately, I don't have any direct contacts in the Vancouver area that I am aware of. I will reach out to someone in our sales organization in the Seattle area to see if they cover also Vancouver or know who might be the person covering that area.

  • Hi Chuck Davenport,

The link should prove my requirement.

    Thank you very much!

    Dison

  • Hi Chuck Davenport,

Sorry, Would like prove me the link for safety page.

    Thanks,

    Dison
  • Hello Dison,

Can you explain what it is you need in detail? I am not certain what you are asking for with your comment "Sorry, Would like prove me the link for safety page."

The component is certified to IEC61508 SIL3 as a SEooC. The applicable Functional Safety Certificate for the RM48L952 device is at this link:http://www.ti.com/lit/spnq004.

In your initial post, you also mentioned needed additional information regarding some other devices from TI that you are using in your system. If you email the list of devices and the request for information relative to safety certifications and/or assessments to our customer support line (support@ti.com) they should be able to route you to the write personnel to provide you information on those other devices.
