EK-TM4C123GXL: What is the maximum power consumption of EK-TM4C123GXL launchpad

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C123GH6PM

Hello,

What could be theorietical power consumption for the launchpad with tm4c123 ? Considering it also has a 3.3V regulator, what will the board consume max, when it is doing alot of processing?

Any ideas?

Best regards,

C.

  • The datasheet has a lot of information on the micro's power consumption.

The board's power consumption will depend on what you attach to it and presumably whether you use the built-in ICD. Have you checked the evaluation board documentation?

  • Hello can,

We don't spec out the current consumption of the entire LaunchPad as that would include the emulator circuit as well as any application specific devices attached to it (such as BoosterPacks).

For the TM4C123GH6PM specifically, you can refer to the device datasheet section 24.20 for current consumption numbers for a variety of operations and system clock frequencies.
  • And - by (first) Resetting & "Holding OFF" ALL MCU Peripherals - your enabling/disabling of, "One Peripheral at a time" may be compared against the MCU's data-sheet - offering expanded insight!

You may note that the data-sheet is unlikely to present such data, "At all System Clock rates" even at - and especially at - those Clock rates you may employ...

As your App may be expected to seek, "lowest power consumption" - your movement AWAY from the (pardon) crude ICDI - and acceptance of "Pro/Multi-Vendor JTAG Probe" enables even further power savings.    (and likely avoids the tribulations of "JTAG Lock-Out" - which is SO regularly reported - this forum...)
