RTOS/EK-TM4C129EXL: SMTP Example using TLS

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Are there any examples utilizing an SMTP server (such as smtp.gmail.com) with the TM4C and TI-RTOS? I have the example project tcpEchoTLS  but I can not establish a connection with the SMTP server, it always times out. I am not very familiar with TCP so any suggestions are appreciated.
