CCS/TM4C123GH6PM: help needed with CAN module

Hi everybody

i have a basic knowledge about CAN bus communications and now i am trying to implement the concepts through the example codes in tiva ware examples ..

the problem is that i dont know the required hardware connections (how to connect the boards ) to run the simple TX / RX examples ..

here is what i have :

2 of tm4c123 boards

1 CAN transceiver (mcp2551) and of-course the 120 ohm resistor

One transceiver? You'll two of those and two terminating resistors. Also some controlled impedance cable. Cat 5 will work in a pinch, better would be CAN specific cable. RS-485 controlled impedance cable can also work.

Out of curiosity, how did you think a single transceiver would work?

I was thinking that he/she would "talk" to a remote CAN device - (until - 2nd reading for comprehension) noted, "2 of TM4C boards!"

i was thinking that the transceiver is being inside the CAN module .. now i got it.

If the transceiver was (inside) the CAN module (and you have two EK boards) - you could (escape) the use of (even) ONE transceiver - could you not?
