TMS570LS0432: Delay between spiInit() function and actual SPI transaction

Hi,

I am TMS570LS0432 launch pad for testing my software. The SPI2 port of the micro controller is configured as master for communicating with external SPI slave device. I would like to know if there is any time constraints between spiInit() function and initiating the SPI transaction. I am using spiTransmitAndReceiveData() function for communicating with the SPI slave device.
