Dear Sir or Madam,

I am trying to design a circuit using your TMS570LS3137 connected to an external 16 bit ADC, as the application needs higher resolution. I was wondering about the processor performance when handling this 16 bit external ADC. Do you see any issue on that?.

    Hello Diego,

    Unfortunately, I cannot answer this question without more details. For sure the MCU has the ability to communicate with external devices and to process the data received. The question is with this external ADC what is the interface type, what is the communication data rate, and what is the expected frequency of ADC readings coming from the external device (i.e., sample rate). From a very basic point of view, the Hercules device has the capability to communicate with either SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, etc. Each of these has capability limitations as defined in the datasheet and their associated standards.
