TMS570LS1224: Halcogen Unit test support package

Part Number: TMS570LS1224
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hi,

I am a user of TMS 570 and designing a product for IEC61508 certificatio. I want the part number for the Unit test software package for Halcogen auto generated code. Please provide me the documentation and the link for me to place the order.

  • Hello Srikanth,

The unit test support is part of the Halcogen CSP package. This product has its own page on TI.com located at this link: www.ti.com/.../safeti-halcogen-csp
  • Hello Daven

Many thanks for your reply. Honeywell has purchased the license for the compliance support package. However i noticed that the unit test suite provided supports only Code composer studio.

Is there any CSP for IAR workbench?

    Regards

    Srikanth

  • Hello Srikanth,

I will check with our SW team on this.
  • Srikanth,

As an update, our SW lead who is responsible for the CSP packages, is out of the office and returning next week. Hopefully he can get back with you or me on this topic soon after he returns.

  • Hi Srikanth,

No, we do not have CSP for IAR, currently we do not have plans to support tools outside of TI Compilers.

  • I downloaded CCS from the internet and i am using the Halcogen CSP for performing unit test of halcogen generated code.

Unfortunately i am not able to get the target configuration please provide a documentation to create a valid target configuration for TMS570LS1224PGE

  • Hi Srikanth,

If you have tried creating a simple project in CCS and connected to the Board, there will be a file named <File>.ccxml. This file is called Target configuration and this has to be provided as input

Also for Build Option, you cannot give directly give, you need to put them in a TXT file and provide that as input.

There are few sample build option files provided in the below folder. You can create one similar and select this as option.

    C:\ti\Hercules\SafeTI-HALCoGen-CSP\<Device>_v01.00.00\HALCoGen\HALCoGenTAU\BuildOptions

  • Hi Daven,

We are in the process of doing a concept assessment with TUV. As a part of the assesment comment from TUV we got a feedback on SafeTi could you help in answering the question they have asked

    1. Where can we find the qualification document for the Halcogen TAU. This tool is used for the unit testing of halcogen generated code.

    2. I did not find a reference weather the Halcogen TAU is classified as T1, T2 or T3 tool

Could you please answer this question on priority

    regards

    Srikanth

  • Srikanth,

I believe we provided an answer to this offline through the local FAE support.

To complete the answer online, my understanding is the the tool classification should be included in your tool classification report and is dependent on your use of the tool. Therefore, TI can only provide guidance on this that the TAU tool is merely a script managing the test case execution. As such it has no direct effect on product safety. For certain, you should evaluate methods to validate your list of tests for input into the TAU tool and evaluate/confirm the execution of each and every intended test case. These validations, however, are outside the scope of the TAU tool itself. In summary, the TAU tool should equate to a T1 but this is something you will need to evaluate based on how you use it.
