RM57L843: longevity of RM57L843-ZWT MCU

Part Number: RM57L843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SHA-256

what is the longevity of following Hercules series MCU.

RM57L843-ZWT

TMS570LC4357-ZWT

as i have to select this for new design for safety critical system.

  • Hello Usman,

Thank you for interesting Hercules MCUs. Those devices are developed for automotive and industrial applications. We generally does not obsolete any devices, and RM57 and LC43x are new devices, so they should be supported for a forseeable future.
  • Hello Wang,

Thank you for  updating about Longevity.

are both of these MCU have cyber security feature? like CRC, DES, 3DES, AES, MD5, SHA-1, and SHA-256

as we are using this in safety critical system so we need cyber security feature.

    Regards,

  • Hello Usman,

We do have a CRC IP within the device but it has to be called and used specifically by the application when applicable. It is a CRC-64 implementation. For the other security mechanisms, it would be up to you to implement these algorithms in software. Hercules does not have any hardware based security other than our AJSM module which is a key based access on the JTAG IP. This provides a moderate level of security for protecting the content of the device and execution interruptions from the JTAG port.
