Hi,

the external NOWECC generation tool is not available anymore. Are we recommending to use Linker based ECC generation or CCS Loader based ECC generation?

A side question: Can the IAR IDE generate the ECC properly for TMS570 devices, just like the CCS IDE can?

    Hello Hunter,

    Both CCS and Uniflash can be used to generate ECC. I don't about IAR IDE.

    Can IAR be used efficiently for Hercules development?

    I am fairly certain (meaning not 100%) the IAR tools can also generate the ECC values, but this would be a better question to pose to their support team.

    In regard to use of IAR for development with Hercules, we have many customer using it effectively. I am aware of a few issues that have popped up recently that do provide some obstacles such as CSP support for our Halcogen generated drivers and SafeTI Diagnostic Libraries. The CSP's only support CCS based code development . This means that any safety standard compliance related materials for these software packages would need to be generated bad supported by you. As a secondary option, though, you could compile the driver and diagnostic library code using the prescribed TI compiler as noted in the CSPs and then link the object code into an IAR application. This way you could still take advantage of the CSPs (compliance support packages) for these drivers.
