EK-TM4C123GXL: Windows Pro 10 64 bits doesn't recognize the board.

I use the "Debug" port in the board.  I also checked that the USB cable is working properly by using other devices.

I installed the following software

SW-TM4C-2.1.4.178.exe

SW-EK-TM4C123GXL-2.1.4.178.exe

Then I replaced this folder  "windows_drivers" by the one in the zip below

SW-TM4C-2.1.4.178.PATCH-1.0.zip

In the Device Manager I didn't see anything. I have to click in this option in the Device Manager window "Add Legacy Hardware".

Then I proceeded to select Tiva and Stellaris but it seems that the drivers are not the appropriate. BTW I got the error "The device cannot start (Code 10)".

Hello Juan,

For the "Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface", the yellow symbols means a driver didn't install correctly. See if you can manually install the drivers by:

• Right clicking each item with the yellow symbol
• Selecting "Update Driver Software..."
• Selecting "Browse my computer for driver software"
• Find the location of the latest drivers on your PC (which if you replaced the old drivers as stated would be C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers)
• Click Next and Windows should install the correct drivers that way.

Just the two Stellaris ones should allow you CCS debug, but you should do the same for the TivaWare Device Firmware Upgrade as well - that port is used for DFU applications which you might eventually use.

That is even more unusual to me, as the Stellaris ports don't even show up now...

Do you have the board plugged in like this:

USB cable on the top port and not the side port, and the switch set to "DEBUG" and not "DEVICE"?

Yes, the board is connected as you mentioned.

I went to "Device Manager" and I clicked "Add Legacy Hardware", then I scrolled in the hardware options and selected "Tiva Device Firmware Upgrade". Then , I searched for the driver that I downloaded from this page www.ti.com/.../stellaris_icdi_drivers, and this is what I got:

I attached an image with the devices that windows 10 recognizes in my computer. Btw, I restarted the computer several times after installing the drivers.

I just tried in a different machine and I got the same results, Windows 10 is not recognizing the board. Here it is the description of the machine

I think you are right. This is what I tried:

After checking in two dell machines with windows 10, I tried in a Mac. I installed Parallels to run Windows 7 as a Virtual Machine because I don't have any other machine with windows 7. I tried the board in Windows 7 and I got the same results. So I think that the board is damaged.

However, here it is the thing. The Demo application in the board is working. I am able to enter to Hibernation mode by pressing and holding SW1 and SW2. I could see the LED blink every three seconds. I guess the problem is in the Debug USB connector.

What would be the return process?
