LAUNCHXL2-RM57L: Booster pack for LAUNCHXL2-RM57L

Part Number: LAUNCHXL2-RM57L

Hi,

looking at booster pack checker https://dev.ti.com/bpchecker/

it seems that there aren't booster packs available for Hercules LAUNCHXL2-RM57L.

Is it true?

  • Well it's true, but I think it's because the Hercules is a microcontroller oriented for industrial, medical and other applications.

I think the boosterpack is dedicated to rapid development and integration that university students can do, but some boosterpack can be adapted to the Hercules family.

  • Hello Antonio,

As Martin stated, many of the booster packs are targeted at DIY, self learners, or students. However, the booster pack connectors are standardized to some degree so many of the functions we bring to these pins are in compliance with or can be adapted to available booster packs as noted in Martin's post as well. For example a NHET pin can serve the purpose of either a timer pin or a GPIO. Also, even if the default function may not along with the booster pack, one of the muxed functions could. In the end, you have to do a pin to pin compare and evaluate if a specific booster back can be used or not.

Finally, if there is a specific booster pack you are interested in, let us know and we can advise if it can be adapted or not or even give guidance if there is an alternative as well.
  • Thanks Martin and Chuck, I'm interested to test all features of Hercules platform, therefore I'm interested also to booster pack compatibility,
www.ti.com/.../LAUNCHXL2-RM57L talks about BoosterPack plug-in modules, but ok, a remap is needed and not direct plugin.
    Thanks,
    Antonio
