Hi

I am designing a product using TM4C1294KPDT and would like to check its future availability. One of the product requirement is that the used part should have life span of at least 7 years.

How can I get s confirmation that the above part will be available for another 7 years?

    Hi Muhahid,
    I certainly think it will be available for another 7 years. But please check with your local TI sales office for the best answer as to the lifespan of the products.

    Indeed the vendor's nearest Sales Office is the "proper" place for such assurance.

    Having past worked for a similar "semi giant" - and having spent time in law school - it would not prove surprising if, "No such guarantee could be reduced to writing."

    Competing vendors regularly "leapfrog" one another.     Does not your request force this vendor to (continue) to produce a device which has been, "long surpassed" by "latest/greatest" (newer ones - which may add features AND be lower cost)?       Preventing yourself - and your client - from exploiting such "normal/customary" device improvements - presents the "other side" - of such "produce forever" coin...

    In my past life (@ semi giant) I always advised such clients to, "Purchase in ADVANCE" - which offers "sure protection" against device going EOL (end of life) early...
