TM4C123GH6PM: Usb communication stops and not resume

Hi,

I write a code which is about USBHostkeyboard. Normally it is working successfully, but sometimes, communication stops and can't any character receive. When I start with debug, USB_FRAME register stops and USB_DEVCTL_SESSION switch 1 to 0. What is the problem ?

Hello Metin,

There is not a lot of info for me to go on here to start with so I have some basic questions so I can understand what you are doing better.

1) Is this on a LaunchPad or a Custom board?
2) If a custom board, has any TivaWare example been tested successfully?
3) Are you trying to port the usb_host_keyboard example from TM4C1294 to TM4C123G? Or are you trying to re-make a new project using the usb_host_keyboard as an example?
4) Is the error repeatable in any manner, or is it completely random?

Hello,

It is custom design and I customised Tivaware example, it is working successfully. Yesterday night, I found a bug, it is about ESD like this entry (https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/tiva_arm/f/908/t/386738 .

Can you share about ESD Tricks for USB circuit?

Have you reviewed Section 3.9.3 of our System Design Guidelines? http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spma056/spma056.pdf

Section 4.3 also has USB specific comments, some of which concern the topic of ESD protection.

Hello Metin,

I haven't seen a charger port protection IC like that used for TM4C USB ports before. It may work, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about such a device to comment for sure.

Browsing through forums for ESD suggestions, one part that came up a few separate times is this: www.ti.com/.../TPD4E1B06

That's the best I can make as far as a recommendation goes. Ultimately your ESD protection needs are more application specific than device specific so it's not an area of expertise for us.
