EK-TM4C123GXL: Unable to flash download working code to my tiva launchpad.

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL

I have been working with keil for about a week now and i have been unable to test my error free code on my tiva c series microcontroller. I build my target successfully and then attempt to flash download my code and then i get two errors. Packs are downloaded and drivers are downloaded.

error #1 "Could not initialize target device, please power cycle the device and try again."

error#2 "error flash download failed - Target DLL has been canceled"

also if i attempt to flash enough the Keil IDE crashes?

I have already attempted to search the forums for a solution but i have been unsuccessful and there may be a possibility that i missed something. I no perfect.

  • Would it not make sense to employ - "instead of your (error free code)" KNOWN GOOD, Vendor Supplied Code - imported in its entirety as your 'Project?"

New users - most always - are "over-challenged" by the complexity of the IDE (even "pro ones" Keil & IAR). By your 'sticking with KNOWN GOOD, Vendor Supplied Projects - you "spectacularly raise the ODDS of your success."

Once you verify that the Vendor Project performs - you may carefully/critically "cut/paste" each/every KEY IDE SETTING - so that your code - enjoys (some chance) of working...

The IDEs are extremely powerful - and demand "adherence" to ALL of their rules. (often beyond "mere mortals" (especially to include moi...)
  • Sorry, I have no experience with the Keil IDE. Have you seen this document?
