Hi,

I am trying to implement UART boot loader for TMS570LC4357 controller, I am not able to send .bin file through Y modem , Y modem through Hyper terminal is returning No responce from remote host .But when i debug from hyper terminal by trying to send some bytes i am able to receive in micro controller .But data through Y modem is not being received . What might be the reason ? . i have ported Y modem from previous versions of Uart Boot-loader for other processor.

Hello Abhijith,

What bootloader have you implemented and has it been designed to support YMODEM? The one included in the application note is based on a simple SCI or simple UART with Tx/Rx only. It will not natively support YMODEM as YMODEM is a protocol that has requirements beyond the basic command and data packets used by the bootloader example code.

If you have implemented the YMODEM protocol support into your Hercules boot loader, I would need more information about your YMODEM based bootloader and what symptoms you are seeing during debug in order to provide guidance.

We provide example code for uart bootloader which uses ymodem.
