Team,

my customer is using Tiva in a new project that is going into production now. In order to enable their customers to do firmware updates via USB, they need to provide a driver to them. They don't want to have each customer install TivaWare, so they want to extract the driver from our suite and provide it to their customers.

This includes

  • ...\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers\amd64
  • ...\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers\i386
  • ...\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers\boot_usb.cat
  • ...\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers\boot_usb.inf

Is TI ok with this?'
Are there alternative packages including only "...\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\windows_drivers" so they can link their customers to TI for driver download?

Is there an alternative solution?

    As an "official" OUT-Sider - may I note that for many reasons - you (& this client) most likely have not, "Well thought this request" - and surely they, "Should NOT do this!"

    Painful repercussions are invited - and easily predicted - such (potential) "blue-sky" approach benefits greatly from "admission of tech reality..."

    This is allowed under the terms of the End User License Agreement files distributed as part of TivaWare:
    C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\EULA.txt
    C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\TI-BSD-EULA.txt

    This software must only be used with TI devices.

    There are also instructions within the comments of boot_usb.inf for customization of the installer.
