RTOS: Find the DHCP Server IP address

Hello,

I would like to know what is the IP address of the DHCP server. How can I do it in the NDK? In my project I am assuming that an MQTT broker is installed on the server where the dhcp server is running, so for every publish and subscribe the IP address of the DHCP server is used.

Hi Daniel,

I don't much access right now, so I'll start with a clarification question...

Do you mean you want to know the IP address of the DHCP server that provided the IP address that the TM4C device received? If so, I can answer that when I get back into the office on Monday.

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to get to that information from outside the NDK. You can add in some code in the dhcpIPAdd (and then dhcpIPRemove) in the packages/ti/ndk/nettools/dhcp/dhcpsm.c file in the NDK to set (and clear) a global variable that contained the DHCP Server's IP address. The DHCPLEASE structure has the IP address of the server in the IPServer field. Then you'd have to rebuild the NDK.

Thank you very much for your time and effort. I am going to try a different workaround instead of rebuilding the NDK. If it fails I will try your suggestion.
