TI made a hands on video series to teach the RTOS: training.ti.com/ti-rtos-workshop-series

The series covers basic things like semaphores and priorities. It includes examples projects and exercises for a few different TI dev kits.

I believe the creator of this series went on to market it privately: www.mindshareadvantage.com/.../

The TI link is fine if you can cope with outdated projects. CCS changes a bit from rev to rev, and you will need to update the project properties accordingly. Or you could pay $150 to avoid all that fuss.
