CCS/TM4C123GH6PM: Memory Viewing Debugger for Cross Programming

Hello everyone,

I am using gcc-arm-none-eabi and arm-none-eabi-gdb for compiling and debugging my Tiva's projects on Ubuntu. However, I found arm-none-eabi-gdb a bit inconvenient for memory and register viewing. So I'm looking for a debugger which has similar features to the one in CCS (I thought about using CCS just for debugging but it seems such a waste of other features).

Might the, "Ubuntu group" have already encountered "this" - or "similar need" - and provided recommendations? (for ANY MCU - not just those here)

Firm/I find that - most always - "Modifying an existing source" - even if "Off Mark" proves faster/easier than, "Wheel's Re-Invention."

While some (few) here employ your method - you've "Culled yourself FAR from the herd" - "safety in numbers" (now) does NOT work in your favor...

Hi Harry,
There is CCS for Linux. I'm not clear as to what you meant by waste of other features using CCS.

I mean I just want to use Debugger in CCS because I already have a compiler using gcc-arm-none-eabi

In CCS you can also select GNU compiler. See below example. If you have further questions on the compiler selection/usage in CCS please post your question to the CCS forum.
