TM4C1290NCPDT: ETHERNET BANDWIDTH TEST on EK-TM4C1294XL

Part Number: TM4C1290NCPDT

Hi there,

I need to measure the maximum bandwith in my local network (Computer - router- Board) via the Ethernet cable, is there anybody who have succesfully do it? I have been searching for a while and I cannot find a reliable way to do it, the most I have achived is sending pings to the board and estimate the bandwith.

Thanks in advance, any suggestios will be a great help.

  • Cannot you first (learn) how "commercial Ethernet Measurement devices" achieve that (bandwidth) result - and then attempt to "model that approach?" It is suspected that some, "Minimum data packet/package size" is specified - which likely well exceeds that of your "pings."

  • dear cb1_mobile, yes, I have tried to measure it like you would do it with ethernet devices, I tried to used Iperf but when I configured the board like server and the computer working as client did not reach the result. The command console just got frozen, probably is something wrong in my code, that is why I wonder if someone has tested it in a few steps way.

    Thanks for the reply anyway.
  • Thank you my friend - for so detailed (and hopefully helpful) a response.

Firm/I have NO experience w/vendors "129 family."    I offered a "General Solution Technique" - in the hope that such would be of (some) value to your efforts.

When your,  "Command Console" became "frozen" - did not (some) "error messages" and/or "warnings" - result?      Such are sure to prove useful to vendor agents - or others here - who may have the "direct experience" you seek.    (which I - do not.)

I wish you success w/your efforts...
