Hello,

I have a customer that is looking for a programmer that works without access to a computer. They are currently using a Segger J-link programmer for development and while segger does have a production programming software it requires access to a computer. It would be nice if my they didn’t have to send a computer over to our board manufacturer for programming. So far I haven’t seen any standalone programmers that support Cortex-R4, so I figured I’d ask.

    Hello David,

    I am not aware of anything that fits that requirement. Since the Hercules device does not have ROM based boot loader, the first time programming always has to be done using JTAG. Because of this I believe it would be very difficult to implement that type of control in most standalone equipment without the use of a PC.
