RM57L843: Mixing 8-bit and 16-bit asynchronous memories in one chip-select

Is it possible that we can mix 8-bit and 16-bit asynch memories in one micro-controller chip-select (individual memory chip select are made with mixing device CS with high order address lines).

Hello Abdul,

I have not seen this kind of use case of mixing 8-bit memory and 16-bit memory in one CS. Why don't you use 1 CS for 8-bit memory and other CS for 16-bit memory?

Dear Wang,

I have SRAM, DPRAM (that requires two CS), a couple of DUARTs and some other devices. In order to have least latency on some interfaces, I don't want to do CS multiplexing for every CS line.

I hope I 've cleared my point.

Hello Abdul,

It is impossible to mix 8-bit memory and 16-bit memory in one CS. The data bus width for the CS is configured either 8-bit or 16-bit.

There are 3 chip selects totally for async memory. The maximum memory range for each CS is 16MB.
