Good day. I wanted to use temperature sensors.

I used appnote and example code for settup of the temp sensors. It is available at this link: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spna216/spna216.pdf

I even downloaded a zip-archive with this example (it just didnt work when i opened it in CCS, so i decided to create new Halcogen project and make everything the same)

But when i laucn the code i get the "ErrorCode = 1".

Code goes here and that's all. It cannot calibrate the sensors. Where can be the problem?

Hello Roman,

I just run the sample code on my TM570LC4357 Launchpad, it works well. Please remove the optimization and try again. The right side of the picture below is the temperatures measured from my launchpad.

Optimization was removerd. Tried to move 'speed' to 0. Same, code goes to errorCode=1;
How can this be? :D same code runs great on your device and not on my device = not.

adcValue here is 0xFFF as u can see. that's why it returns false later. i tried to change reristers according to spna216 to get second and third sensors, same result

Everything is same except of ti compiler (example uses v5.1 and i use v16.9)

can this be something wrong with my pad? or i dunno...

and that's gives the error. why are this registers 0xfffffff? i dont get it.
and this "unknown registers" thing

do we realy use the same example project? spna216.zip?
if not, pleashe share yours

I re-compiled the project with v16.9 compiler, andit works without any problem. Attached is the .out file, please load to your launchpad and try. Thanks

everything is still the same.
unzipped spna216 again, build, replaced with yours .out file and flashed = same result. 0xFFFFFFF in THERMISTOR_CAL_DATA(0xF0080310) register.

Hello Roman,

The OTP values at 0xF00803xx of your device are wrong. Those locations should contain the junction temperatures of the silicon during the device testing. Can you please check other OTP locations:

Deliberate single bit and double bit errors are placed at 0xF00803F0 and 0xF00803F8.

Other OTP locations contans 0xFFFFFFFF.

0xF00803F0 has the same values as yours

Hi Roman,

I am sorry hearing that. I think the OTP was not programmed correctly. Can you please check the silicon revision? It is either RevA or RevB.

Sorry for that. If you buy the kit from TI website, I think you can ask for exchange. We are checking with our product line why the OTP is not programmed on your chip.
