When can we expect an updated version of TI-RTOS to be released for TM4C? I am running into the I2C issue described here, where the suggested workaround is to use I2C_cancel() (which isn't present in TI-RTOS 2.16).

We don't currently have a new TI-RTOS for TM4C planned.

Does TI have a recommended MCU/RTOS combination for new designs given TM4C/TI-RTOS is not going to be receiving any updates going forward?

Hi,

If you don't need an Ethernet port, we recommend new designs to still use TM4C123 devices. Please note, we may release a new TI-RTOS for TivaC if enough critical issues come up that need to be resolved.

If you want to add Ethernet, new designs should look at the MSP432E4 device.

Hi all,

Want to chime in to clarify that not all TM4C129 MCU's are chosen for new designs over the TM4C123 due to the Ethernet peripheral, as there are a number of other differentiators between the TM4C123 and TM4C129 including added peripherals (EPI, LCD Controller, Security etc.), larger memory space, etc. so there may be cases where the TM4C129 devices are still very fitting for a new design that uses TI-RTOS.
