LAUNCHXL2-570LC43: Silicon revision of TMS570LC4357 included in LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 Dev Kit

I'm looking for clarification on which silicon revision (A or B) of TMS570LC4357 is included in the LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 dev kit.

The LaunchPad kit was introduced in June 2015 and, at that time, the TMS570LC4357 microcontroller would have been silicon revision A. Two months later, however, in August 2015, silicon revision B was introduced (Literature Number: SPNZ232A).

So, if I am purchasing a kit from stock through TI or distribution, is there anyway to know which silicon revision I will be receiving?

Hello Kevin,

Please find the rev# on printed on the device on your launchpad. Silicon revision is identified by a device revision code. The code is of the format TMS570LC4357x, where "x" denotes the silicon revision. If x is "A" in the device part number, it represents silicon revision A. If x is "B" in the device part number, it represents silicon revision B and so on.

Hi QJ,

Thank you for your reply, it is very much appreciated.
I am wondering, however, if we can know which silicon revision is included before we order the launchpad. I don't physically have the kit, so i can't inspect the marking.

Have the dev kits been manufactured with both silicon versions? Can I assume newer kits will have the Rev. B silicon?

I am not sure if the revision B is used on launchpad. I will check with marketing.

Hello Kevin,

The launchpad uses both RevA and ReB. The newer launchpad should have RevB silicon on it.
