RM57L843: Bootloader for SPI2 Interface

Hi,

Is it possible to use SPI2 interface for Bootloader on an RM57L Hercules? I saw an application note on the RM57L technical documents side "SPI Bootloader for Hercules RM48 MCU" , I'm a little confused why is the document for RM48 but on the RM57L side?

Hi Marcel,

Yes, you can any SPI on RM57 for bootloader. The bootloader example code can be imported to RM46, RM57 very easily.

Hi,

I have a few more questions. In the application note is descripted that the MCU has to drive only the Tx line, that means that the MCU is a SPI slave? How should I know when I have to send the bootloader data to the MCU?

I know it like this, the MCU is master(because the MCU knows when it is time to load the bootloader) and the bootstrap pins tells of where the bootloader is to loaded from.

Hi Marcel,

The MCU SPI is slave. The MCU is in while() loop waiting for the ping command and data from master side.
