TMS570LS1224: Maximum data throughput for HET and HTU?

Part Number: TMS570LS1224

Hello,

I am trying to profile my system and I want to know my data rate limitations throughout the system. I am collecting data through the HET and then using the HTU as DMA to the CPU RAM. What is the maximum data throughput for the HET and HTU to the CPU RAM?

Regards

Eirik

  • Hello Eirik,

I don't know that we can easily quantify this since it is dependent on the loop resolution time and the length of your program, etc. You should be able to determine it based on how long it takes to clock in each bit. Ultimately, this will be related to the LRP and HRP that are setup and the overall scheme of framing up the bits. There is an example provided in this link, e2e.ti.com/.../673691, of an N2HET emulated UART. In the application note, it is discussed in detail how to determine the effective baud rate. This should translate well to you task and allow you to also determine the effective bit rate and, thus, the throughput.
