TMS570LC4357: I/O multiplexing and Control Module default values after reset for eCAPx and eQEPX modules

Hello,

I/O multiplexing and Control Module default values for eCAPx and eQEPX modules described in the TMS570LC4357 TRM are not inline with what is observed on target.

Special PinMux Register Extected Value @reset as per TRM Observed value after power up or system reset

Can you please confirm the expected default values of those four special multiplexed otions register ?

    The following is from the TRM. As highlighted, the default values are as you indicated the device is reflecting. i.e., 0x01010101.

    In addtion, if go to the eQEPx detail, the following table shows the default values to be 1 for the same bits as well.

    Its the same for the other eTimer pinmux options.

    Can you share what gave you the impression that all of the pinmux bits for these option selection registers should be 0 after reset? I can enter a document improvement request and this might help us make the TRM more clear.

    The default values for those 4 registers are: 0x01010101. Bit 0/8/16/24 are set.

    1. Double-VCLK3-synchronized is selected for eCAP
    2. Double-VCLK3-synchronized is selected for eQEP

    I missed the default values defined for all the special PINMMR in table 6-26 in section 6.7.1, thanks for this highlight.

    I also missed the update of the TRM published in early March, and both table 6-8 and 6-9 were incorrect in TRM date May 2014.

    Please note that while Table 6-9 has been corrected in this new spnu563a date March 2018, Table 6-8 for eCAPx remains incorrect.

    In any case you provided the requested pieces of information and I confirmed the default values, so I consider this issue as solved.
