Compiler/TM4C123GH6PM: TI COMPILER V 5.2.8 ISSUE IN LATER CCS

Part Number: TM4C123GH6PM

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Dear all,

 MCU USED WAS TM4C123GH6PMI7

  I had recently developed a project using CCS v 6.3 or later, but not v7. However, when I upgraded my CCS to v8 and imported the "completely working" project, I noticed that CCS warned me that the project was compiled using TI  compiler v 5.2.8 and now I was using TI v 18.1.1 LTS. Although the compilation was successful, the program behaved erratically. The once running perfect code, suddenly stopped working and the desired outputs were all gibberish. Then I went to "Help"-> "Install new software" -> "Code generation tools updates" and found that TI compiler v 5.2.8 was NOT there, instead I installed 5.2.9. Restarted CCS and then after compilation, the program worked perfectly .

Please tell me how can I download this compiler TI v 5.2.9 , keep it in a safe place, so that for my future productions, I donot have to face any such issues. Is it possible to actually download this compiler and keep it saved in my hard drive and later integrate it with future versions of CCS, as it comes ?

I'm really scared that if this compiler is removed from the tools updates list in future, then my entire firmware will have to be redesigned, and that will be impossible for us.

Regards,

Turjasu
