TMS570LS1224: Maximum Speed of MIBSPI/SPI?

I read in the datasheet for the TMS570LS1224 that the minimum cycle time for the clock is 40ns or 25MHz both as slave and master. Does this mean that the maximum transfer rate of SPI is 25Mbits/s or is that not the case if sending larger chunks of data?

    Hello Erik,

    The maximum data rate is 25Mbits/s as noted but this does not include any overhead related to delays between transmitted bytes that is needed to accommodate setup/hold times and delays for reading/tranferring data out of the SPI buffers. The latest TRMs include a note about including this gap between transfers when in slave mode of operation in section 28.2 operating modes.
