Hi,

I am using TMS570LS0332 in my design. I would like to use on-chip LIN peripheral of the controller. I want to configure the LIN as either master or slave dynamically on start-up based on the input to my system. If i configure the LIN peripheral to master using the HalCoGen on start-up of my system, is it possible to reconfigure to slave dynamically.

As per the datasheet of the microcontroller, the CLOCK bit in SCIGCR1 register can be used to configure LIN as master or slave. Can i change the CLOCK bit of SCIGCR1 register on the fly to change the mode? Or do I have to update any other registers?

Hi,

I have also observed the following. When I change the mode of the LIN peripheral from master to slave (using HalCoGen) and generate the code, I do not see any change in CLOCK bit of SCIGCR1 register. I observed this in lin.c file. Refer to attached picture. (left is master mode and right is slave mode).

If you want to use the slave mode, please modify the code manually (change bit 5 of GCR1 to 0x0). I noticed this bug, and reported to design team weeks ago. They will fix the issue in next release. Thanks

Many thanks for your comments. I would like to configure the LIN peripheral of the cotroller either as master or slave based on some input to system.

Is it possible to change bit 5 of GCR1 on the fly with out any other changes??

Hello Sreekanth,

The SWnRST has to be cleared to 0 before changing the register settings. After SWnRST is cleared, no data will be transmitted or received.
