TM4C1294KCPDT: Ethernet signal integrity at 100 meters?

Part Number: TM4C1294KCPDT

I have a customer planning to use TM4C1294KCPDT.  Main question is regarding ability to reliably drive 100 meter Ethernet cable.

Can you provide insight regarding this?

  • Hi Greg,
The specification for max length is 100m. You want to make sure a good quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable is used.
  • Agree 100% w/Charles - yet in addition - the 'entire 100m RUN' of cable must be 'properly & well treated!'     Simply 'stepping' on the cable - may cause signal distortion.    Severe 'bending or folding' ... even if released/corrected ... may also cause such damage.

Cable supplier should provide a 'laundry list' of (very) proper handling.      And then the cable installers must  'Comply w/vendor's directives!'      (Not to ask ... HOW I Know...)
