LAUNCHXL2-570LC43: TMS570LC4357 Launchpad Debugger not working & Launchpad Consuming High Current

Part Number: LAUNCHXL2-570LC43

Hello Team,

I have bought a launchpad LAUNCHXL2-570LC43.

Board is Powered using the Debugger USB Supply.

I was debugging my code and all of sudden Debugger stopped working.

It Came out of debug mode. I am not able to connect to debugger again.

So I connected 5V Supply from RPS to the Launchpad.

I am not able to enter into debug mode.

I observed that Launchpad is consuming 1A current and Controller is getting heated up.

  • Hello Rajasekaran,

Have you programmed anything into the MCU flash? If yes, does your code keep doing LBIS and PBIST. The maximum current may reach to 1A under some operating condition. One thing to try for connecting JTAG to MCU:

    1. press nRST button

    2. click "connect target" in "debug" panel, then release the nRST quickly.

  • 1. Open the target configuration window, and launch the selected the configuration
    2. Switch to debug window
    3. Press the reset (nRST) button and hold it
    4. Click “Connect Target” immediately after you release the nRST button
    5. The board should be connected after couple tries
