RM57L843: JTAG or SWD

Hi TI,

I want to know why there are two ways of downloading codes named JTAG and SWD?What's the MAIN difference between them?And which one have more excellent performance?

Hi Frank,

SWD(specific to ARM only) requires less wires than JTAG, somewhat slower but the observable difference will only be in the case of huge codes.
And in debugging, both are essentially the same.

At last, when you have downloaded the code in the processor, how can there be a difference in the performance of the device?

Hi Harish,
Because we usually use JTAG mode when downloading codes,but meet the situation that the PC disconnects to MCU or the IDE indicates that the MCU is locked many times.So I want to know which mode has more excellent performance and which one does less harm to MCU during downloading?

Hi Frank,

Hercules MCU is ARM Cortex-R4/R5 based device. It doesn't support SWD.
