I am working on EK-TM4C129EXL evaluvation kit. I am new to this evaluvation board. I have studied lab exercise PDF but still I am unclear about configuring the BIOS Idle function and linking libraries to it. Is there any workshop videos like that about Configuring BIOS other than the 2 Day Online training workshop video by Eric Wilbur

I will suggest you to also try the various TI-RTOS examples by using Resource Explorer in CCS. See below.

These examples you've mentioned above comes with BIOS. The examples in the image below is without BIOS right??. Can we run the application without BIOS???. or In case If I need to run the application with BIOS how to include these examples in the BIOS. For Example If need to include enet_lwip file listed below to integrate with the BIOS is it possible??. How to do that??

Hi,
In your original question and title, I thought you are looking to learn the BIOS and hence I provided the TI-RTOS examples. In the image that you show these are the non BIOS examples. You can import them if you want. These are the same examples as in the TivaWare library. In case you have not installed the TivaWare library, they can be downloaded from www.ti.com/.../SW-TM4C.

TI-RTOS has it own drivers (called NDK) to support Ethernet. The enet_lwip example which is non RTOS based is based on the 3rd party LwIP stacks. We don't have any examples with LwIP integrated any type of RTOS. If you are looking for Ethernet solution with RTOS I will suggest you look into the TI-RTOS NDK that you will get support from our NDK and TI-RTOS team.

I need to include NTP Server in the application, whether the TI-RTOS Stack or Lwip Third party stack has that feature???

We don't have any ready to use NTP examples. I hope the below NDK API reference for SNTP will provide some guidance. downloads.ti.com/.../index.html

Hi,
Is there any document on LwIP or those Networking stacks NDK's ???. In my application the microcontroller should connect to an IP address (DHCP or Static IP Address) and receive data from that IP address. In such case in which buffer of EK-TM4C129EXL the data would be stored in??.
Is there any specific datasheets to look into for such kind of Informations???

Hi Charles,
In case If I use NDK with TI-RTOS, The application that I develop needs to have the an option of having Static IP address. The TCP Echo code
supports DHCP only. Can I configure that code to be used as static IP Configuration???.
Also I have uploaded the TCP Echo code to the controller, To test it I have opened the tcpsendreceieve.exe application. when I tried to open it. It( tcpreceieve.exe ) closes ..
How to test the TCP Echo code ???

You have to launch it (windows) from RUN then type CMD or make a short cut on desktop to open an active window for the EXE to execute it's code.

Hi,

You can configure your static address. See below. Unclick the "Obtain IP address automatically" and put your own static address in the IP address field.

As suggested by BP101 (Thanks to BP101), you need to open a cmd window like below.

I am able to set static IP Address but not able to configure port number. What is the default port number how to change the port number???

I have found that the default port number to be 1000 but unable to change that..

Hi Charles,

I am able to set static IP Address and configure the desired port number. I am able to receieve the data from the client over Ethernet. I can't able to find the buffer or the array in which the received data stored in the controller..
As of my study It would be stored in a array called char Buffer[] which in the function called Void tcpWorker(UArg arg0, UArg arg1) . is it correct??
I am not able to get the method to configure the program with C code although I gone through the SPRU523k pdf

Hi,

The recv is defined in the socket.h as below.

and you can find the NDK_recv() API as well as the rest of NDK API documented in the SPRU524K.pdf that I provided. Here is the link again. www.ti.com/.../spru524k.pdf.

Question was answered yet you go on to ask other questions. The (tcpreceieve.exe) will open then immediately close if you launch it from the windows desktop or folder.

How was that question not answered?

Hi Charles,
Based on your reply I can understand that I have write a separate function using the API's that are mention in the spru524k.pdf. This function that contains all those api's can read the data from the Client or send data to the client.. Am I correct???
If I need to change IP address and the Port number during run time, is it possible to do that using XGCONF option.

Your understanding is correct about the API.

Please check the tcpEchoHooks.c file in the tchEcho project where the port number 1000 is defined and passed as the argument to create the tcpHandler task.
