TM4C1290NCPDT: TM4C129X and LCD Interface

Part Number: TM4C1290NCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C129XNCZAD,

I have few queries related to lcd interface ..

Can I interface below attached datasheet LCD ?LXD-M7637A-spec.pdf

  • Looks good at a glance. You will need to use the screen in TTL mode and the chip in raster mode. Read section 26 of the datasheet for details.
  • I am sorry, but I had to delete the link you posted to that datasheet. It is marked as "Confidential No Disclosure".
  • Should that display be 'rare' (difficult to purchase - later) most all of your development work will be LOST!

Most always - developing a 'One Off' - proves (very) hard to justify. While more costly - the purchase of an 'in production display' - acquired from a 'prime source' - serves to best justify your time & effort when developing such unique designs... (such displays tend to, 'Remain Available' long past the 'disappearance' of the, 'Low-Cost - Display du Jour' - as offered by the gray market...)
  • I respect the protecting IP, but screen manufactures have an odd way of using the word "confidential".

Edit: after posting I realized I too may be breaking the rules. I had linked to newhaven and displaytech-us as examples of offending the use of the word "confidential". More examples of screen manufacturers hosting "confidential" data sheets on their websites are not hard to find.

  • Hi Peter,

Good to know but in this case the file was uploaded onto our E2E forum manually so we cannot tell if it is publicly available and just mislabeled like your shared examples of if it truly is proprietary and put us at liability.
  • no problem i uploaded the new spec sheet that is open for all not confidential.
  • Section 26 is of the Signal table how would i configure the same can you please explain me in detail..

How to join HSYNC, VSYNC, and RGB interface with my controller.?
  • This appears to be a different screen from a different manufacturer. Perhaps you've taken cb1's advice?

My initial post is incorrect due to confusion from the title. The TM4C1290NCPDT does NOT have the LCD peripherals you need to drive this screen. The TM4C129XNCZAD does. Read section 26 of the TM4C129XNCZAD's datasheet and it should be clear. Table 31-3 in the TM4C129XNCZAD's will show the signals for the screen's interface. For example, pin N4 is VSYNC.

The part number mix up is caused by 'x' sometimes being a placeholder for various values, but the TM4C129X chips use the 'x' in the part number. What was your intention when creating the title? Why have you cited TM4C1290NCPDT?

  • Thanks Peter so, TM4C1290NCPDT would not help me for the development with this type of LCDs which has VSYNC HSYNC that i attached as above specs.?
