1. On EK-TM4C1294XL REV D page 4, U13-1 and U13-8 are shorted, (U13) 2 and 7, 3 and 6, 4 and 5 are shorted as well, it effectively bypass U13 (SLVU2.8-4). Are you intend to delete U13? To get the best result, should I follow the application note in SLVU2.8-4 or follow EK-1294XL?

The schematic on page 4 of the Launchpad User's Guide is consistent with the layout guidelines of the SLVU2.8-4. The ESD protection is between the TX+ and TX- or the RX+ and RX-. The recommended layout for the SLVU2.8-4 show the PCB traces going straight across under the package.

In the schematic, the same connection is drawn around the symbol just for clarity.
